Hey everyone, what´s up… (2008-04-17)
It´s been a while but still I really don´t have anything to report as of now. I guess, since we quit doing the record of he month bit, I could get you guys hip to some groovy tunes. Well first off, I´m way into this Greek record out on Zodiac rec. by a certain Popi Asteriadi & her buddy Lakis Pappas, Another Sunday Gone. Really sad & mellow 1969 Neo Kyma/Bluesy folk- rebetiko. It kind of sounds a bit like Nick Drake…If he was a chick. And Greek.
Another fine record is the smoking fresh "Things of the past" by Vetiver. These cats sound sort of Beatle-esque at times & like they´re into the Band & The Byrds & stuff. So am I & I think you should be too. They do a great rendition of Hawkwinds Hurry on sundown & has a song about the late great Lon Chaney, one of the best actors in the history of motion pictures if you ask me for one. This album wont be out until May but it´s worth the wait, it really is.
